Week 4 - Resolutions

The Week 4 Update…

1. Healthy Eating - Mwahahahaha. I kicked the scale’s ass again.  After 4 rounds, it’s me 4, scale 0. The scale put up a good fight in round 3, but lost it’s motivation in round 4. Take that scale!

2. Cleanup - Not happening quite yet.  Hopefully I can start to organize the stuff next month.

3. Website Growth - ScalpEm is having a very good month. I hope to see it continue its growth.

Week 3 - New Year’s Resolutions

Well, the scale didn’t win this week, but I didn’t kick it’s rear end either. After further review of the food journal, the ruling on the field stands; I didn’t do so hot over the weekend with my choices. However, I’m not getting down on myself. I still lost some weight, and I’m still feeling healthier than 3 weeks ago. I’ve also adjusted my goal to be an interim one, which will be follow by part two of my goal. This interim goal lines up with softball season, and it’s doable. Tough, but doable. Wish me luck!

As for the cleaning up of some of the house stuff. I’m slowly getting some Goodwill items together in the house. My old computer monitor might be useful to someone for a while an I need to be rid of that chair and extra night stand at some point. I’ll have to go through some clothes, but in reality most of that stuff is just rag worthy.

And the website seems to be doing very well this month. I need to get some more writing in this week, but I haven’t felt especially creative. A could 5-6 part preview of the baseball and softball season would be a good two weeks worth of posts though. Hopefully, I can get some of that stuff done soon. Also, I’m looking forward t seeing how I did with the College Football Blogger Awards.

Week 1 - New Year’s Resolutions

Updating my resolutions for the Week 1.

1. Eat right / Exercise more - I did better with my eating habits and I exercised at least 30 minutes each day this past week.

2. Clean up the house - I didn’t make any progress on this yet. I need to get a to do list together this week so that I can knock it out in smaller pieces.

3. Grow ScalpEm.com’s readership - There has been a solid increase in traffic thanks to the Jimbo Fisher saga. Also, I’m testing out some AdBrite ads as a way for advertisers to directly pay me on my site. I’m not sure how well that will go, but it’s worth a shot for a while. Also, the AdSense revenue sharing program has its first member, Troy.

The South Beach Heart Diet

Is the “plumbing model” for heart disease all wrong? Famed South Beach Diet guru, Dr. Agatston thinks so. The MSNBC article is interesting. I don’t have a lot to add about it, other than I’ve seen South Beach work pretty well and Agatston seems to know what he’s talking about. So maybe his model and his plea for prevention is a better solution than the current one of drugs and repair?

Resolutions

This is a better spot for my New Year’s Resolutions than ScalpEm, but here we go anyway.

My New Year’s Resolutions for 2007

1. Exercise more / eat right. (Yeah… I think a lot of us make this resolution. This time I mean it… really. Tailgates be darned.)

2. Clean out the house. (I despise shredding, but there is a lot of paperwork that needs to go and I have some stuff that I need to get out of here and take to Goodwill).

3. Grow ScalpEm.com’s writing base and readership. (I don’t have a plan for this other than my goal is to have 7-10 consistent contributers to the site, and we’ll see where it goes from there.)
