The Miken 484, my bat for my rec league softball team. Why do I like it? Because it’s forgiving, and because it’s got plenty of pop. And it’s black. I love black bats… I had an Easton Black Magic in high school that was good to me for a long time. About half of our team is using a version of it at this point, even though it’s a 2006 model.
It’s one of those really good “daily driver” type of bats, and has held up well over the past two seasons. It’s money well spent. 
Yeah, I realize that nobody is upset, but there’s still a big part of me that hates letting down a team, even if it’s just rec league softball. Yes work had an emergency, which caused me to miss a game last night, but it still doesn’t make me feel any better.
Sorry guys… I might not have made the difference last night, in fact probably not but I wish I could have been there!

It’s been a rough year for my softball team and me. Between a wrist injury in the first half of the season and a bum knee for the last 4 games, I’m happy that the season will be over after tonight’s game. Plus it will free up my weeknights for movies, hanging out, or whatever.
In other news, my Mets are 5 games up on the Atlanta Braves now. Hopefully they will continue to extend that lead.
If anyone is looking for some crazy softball pants go check out Boombah.com. Mine should arrive today and my turfs should arrive just before the season begins in March. I’m looking forward to softball this year, probably because we didn’t all burn out on a fall league last fall. Plus, we’ve got a couple of new guys, which is always fun. Especially, if they show up consistently.
