1. Healthier Living - Football season is so tough. I ruin a pretty good week with a bunch of crap on Saturdays. Ugh.
2. Cleanup - Time to head back into some drawers and organize some paperwork. Hopefully that can be done prior to Thanksgiving.
3. Website Growth -The site is doing well after I sold out and created a cheerleader gallery. And it’s time for the week-long blackout in honor of the blackout game against Duke this weekend. Who would have thought the Noles would play an 8pm game against the Blue Devils?
1. Healthier Living - I got my walking in for the week. Woohoo!
2. Cleanup - I tackled the garage today. It’s much more organized and swept out. Bye Bye cobwebs and junk. Sweet!
3. Website Growth - Steady growth is the story here, and the photo galleries are getting more and more popular. I really think it’s great that anyone even looks at them. Increased ad revenue isn’t a bad thing.
1. Healthier Living - I know, I know I’ve been yapping about doing better here for a long time. I’ve finally hit that point where I’m going back to walking. I’m making the commitment now, from here until the end of the year to go 3x week. That’s reasonable, and if I do more, great. If not, I’m meeting my goal.
2. Cleanup - Hopefully I can hit up some stuff this weekend.
3. Website Growth - ScalpEm.com continues to go up the Alexa ranking charts, but so far I haven’t seen any additional advertising. Hopefully I’ll see some more soon, although AdWords has been on a much better pace recently.
1. Healthier Living - Eh, another mediocre week. You’d think answering to my blog would motivate me. I did eat better generally, but I’m not losing weight, so I have to find a better balance of the two.
2. Cleanup - I got rid of the last of the boxes that were piled up everywhere, now it’s back to the regularly scheduled cleanup. I think I’m going to take on the garage soon, since there is a lot of useless crap in there that I can eliminate.
3. Website Growth - ScalpEm.com has broken the 1 million mark in the Alexa rankings, and it is the highest rated “Blog” that is FSU related. I’m pretty proud of that that. Hopefully it will continue to grow!
1. Healthier Living - I’m seriously considering getting up earlier and doing my walking first thing in the morning. It’s far too easy for me to come home after work and want to loaf. I’m also going to really, seriously focus on some diet changes. I need to consciously add more fruit, nuts and veggies. On the bright side of that, it eliminates the need for the junk food that I usually have around.
2. Cleanup - My Vizio VX32LHDTV10a looks fantastic up on my wall. The new home office is complete! I have some more drawers to look forward to over the next couple of weeks, and then the garage. I’m really getting a ton of stuff moved around, making for a much simpler home. Simplifying seems to make life so much easier.
3. Website Growth - I’m having a great month with my AdSense account, and I’ve launched another website with Chili and Willy Mac from DannyFordIsGod.com, called TailgatingForNoReason.com. I’m not quite sure where I want to go with it, I’m thinking spoofs would be great, and I’d really like to have a lot of contributors, but we’ll see. At least ScalpEm is doing solid this year, and I’m even shocked with how well EmptyNotebook does, while I try to figure out how I’d really like to use it. For now it’s fine as my personal blog, and I like having to answer to my resolutions here.
1. Healthier Living - Not so bad considering FSU had a home game, and I tend to eat crap food on game day. Otherwise it’s back to walking.
2. Cleanup - The wall mount for my Vizio VX32LHDTV10a is great. I got it at Monoprice.com for like $25. The HDMI cables are pretty great too. Overall I’m pleased with the picture quality for a $600 32″ HDTV. There are some minor issues with ghosting and choppiness, but for the home office it’s great. The QAM tuner is pretty great too, so I can use HD Picture-In-Picture after I split my cable line (one to the box and one directly to the TV).
3. Website Growth - September is at a brisk pace, and my Alexa rank is getting back to where it should be.
1. Healthier Living - Doing better than I have been, but I need to do even better than that. At least I got some walking in recently. I need to get back into a routine, and I might have to suck it up and walk in the morning. Afternoons have been to rainy, but I really, really hate waking up earlier than I have to wake up.
2. Cleanup - Home office is almost complete. I’m just waiting on the wall mount for the TV and I’ll eventually put up some shelving, but I’m very, very pleased with the utility of the room now.
3. Website Growth - More ad revenue is a good thing!
1. Healthier Living - Not doing horrible, not doing great. Enjoyed a hell of a dinner at The Melting Pot on Saturday night with my wonderful girlfriend though.
2. Cleanup - Let the home office reconfiguration begin. The closet it almost done, the couch was 86′d. The coffee table goes to Goodwill soon. I’ll likely get rid of my Apex TV for a couple of bucks and I’ll ditch my 15 year old cheap entertainment center at the dump. As for improvements, I’ll be getting a couple of inexpensive recliners, a 26 inch HDTV that I’m going to mount over the office desk, to free up some room. Basically I’m flip-flopping the room from the way it is not.
3. Website Growth - I had an issue with Alexa not properly ranking my websites, which could lead to a loss in ad revenue. Thankfully I’ve fixed it, and I should be straightened out in another couple of weeks. Traffic has been slower than I expected, or has it? One set of stats is conflicting the other, but it seems to me that my ad revenue is up on Google, which means I’m getting more relevant ads and visitors like them. That’s fine with me whether it’s 10 visitors or 10,000.
1. Healthier Living - Meh. That’s all I have to say right now. 3 weeks before the sweat begins at Doak.
2. Cleanup - I pitched the giant bag of “To Shred.” That felt good. Now I need to get rid of some extra things in the office closet and the hall closets and I’m good to go.
3. Website Growth - August continues to do well. I’m happy to have received a submission from Kate, she always has an interesting take for ScalpEm. Traffic isn’t as high as I thought it would be, but we’ll see how the last couple of weeks finishes up.
1. Healthier Living - So… I’ve been “Getting Back On Track” for a while now. This time I mean it. More fruits and veggies. Good protein, and less crap. Hopefully my eating will stabilize over the next couple of weeks as we head into the fall season.
2. Cleanup - I’ve decided to forget about the shredder for now. I need to just pitch what I have and get back to cleaning out some of the office stuff.
3. Website Growth - August is doing well so far. In fact, I’ve sold ads on ScalpEm.com and here at EmptyNotebook. My hosting fees are officially covered and then some for August. That pleases me to no end. And, I should be getting my first AdSense check from Google next month. I’ve learned a lot about ad revenue over the last year, and while I don’t think that ScalpEm will ever be a huge money-maker, if it pays for itself, that pleases me. My stats have been acting funky on my webhost, but all indications are that August is solid, just like July.
