CFL Savings Update
Remember those CFLs I installed to replace my globe lights and my main light bulbs in the house? I guess they are working.

Granted, there are some other factors at play here, like use of air conditioning and the fact that my old school monitor was replaced by a more efficient LCD, but the bulbs are a large part of it. I’m interested to see what May ends up light, since I’ve installed that programmable thermostat for the AC / Heat.
Let’s just hope I don’t break a CFL!

Just wondering since may what savings you have noticed and if all the bulbs you replaced are still working or have any of them had to be replaced?

I don’t have the solid figures right now, but I can tell you this… my girlfriend now lives with me and we use a lot more light than I ever did alone. Between the bulbs and the programmable thermostat I’m still seeing about 50 kwH less each month.
